As someone that's an avid high heel wearer, I must admit I am feeling a little guilty towards my beloved heels.

. I've been neglecting my precious stilettos for a something a little closer to the ground. Flat shoes, or 'flats', have been fast becoming a wildly popular shoe style for women everywhere. From ballerina flats to knee high boots, flat shoes are a comfortable option for those fashion forward mavens that not only want to look fabulous but have all the comfort in the world. So with all that said, what are the hottest trends in flat shoes? Here are some key flats designs that any girl will go ga-ga over.

Beautiful Ballerina Flats

If there is an essential ballet flat, it has to be the Tory Burch Reva Ballerina Flat. This coveted signature shoe (which retails for $195) from the famous Tory Burch, is the perfect everyday flat. Flat Boots

This year it is all about the flat boot. Whether it's fall or spring, a nice flat boot is a great way to pump up an outfit. Whether you pair them with a nice cotton dress or a sexy pair of skinny jeans, the hot flat boot can do the trick. One of my personal obsessions this year is the combat boot - that's right, the combat boot. Combat boots are not just men anymore. There are a ton of footwear designers creating really fun and cute combat boots for women everywhere. The Roper Combat Boots from Joie is a perfect example of mixing the classic tough army style boot with girly features. This rather stylish boot is made of beautiful worn-in leather, criss-cross lace-ups and a cute fringe appliqu' on the upper toe of the boot. It is simply chic, but still has that tough edge to make your feet look fabulous.
