A saddle is the single most important piece of gear which is what you will sit on, the saddlecloth is put under the saddle so that the saddle doesn't pinch the horses back, the bridle is placed over the horses head and has the reins attached allowing you to control the horse and the girth which is commonly made out of leather keeps the saddle in place during the horse ride.
