Mahogany Furniture

Mahogany wood is one of the most valuable woods of the world. The wood is rich in colour and its colour would vary from the pink colour to the deep reddish-brown one with age, as it gets older. This is a fine quality wood in which the grains are uniformly spread out. Also, there are not hollow voids and features very few knots. Most of these trees are very large and that is why it is used in the making of large and continuous boards of wood. This was widely used in the making of the formal mahogany furniture especially the formal dining table or the bed room furniture in the early time of its use. It is very strong and durable and the craftsmen can create the furniture without the joints.

Teak Furniture

Teak is the wood of the tropical rainforest regions of the world. It is very strong and durable and therefore, this has been used by the furniture makers for centuries. Another remarkable feature of this wood is that there is a high oil content which makes it a good water repellent. Due, to this quality, the teak furniture does not deteriorate in water. It also does not catch the rust when it is worked along with the metal. It also finds use in shipbuilding industry as well. This makes it quite relevant for making both the indoors or the outdoors furniture.

Cane Furniture

The cane furniture is the one which is made from the bamboo canes or rattan canes. This is very strong furniture since the rattan grain grows vertically and this does not grow in concentric circles as in other hardwood varieties. The cane furniture is the one that is used for both the indoor and the outdoor applications.

Wicker Furniture

This is the furniture made of thin strand of the grass, vine or branch which is woven to make furniture. At first a frame is made, using the metal or the cane and then this slender strand is weaved around it into a specific pattern to make chairs, tables and even the sofas. Willow, bamboo, reed or even rattan can be used to make this furniture. The wicker furniture is light, airy and is made from the environment friendly natural materials mostly. These make for good outdoor furniture when some synthetic material is used for weaving. It is important to note that the wicker is the name of the process which makes the furniture whereas the rattan is the product which is used for the same. Therefore, it is better to say that the wicker furniture is the one which has been weaved.
