Amritsar is one of the largest cities of the Indian state of Punjab

. The city is located in the North Western part of India. The city is well known for being the spiritual center of the city of Sikh religion and is also the administrative center of the Amritsar district. One of the world renowned Sikh shrines is also located in the city and is called the Golden Temple; it is actually the home of the great Sikh guru Harminder Sahib. The city has a renowned history and is a significant place for the Sikh religion.
