It needs to be remembered that event rental companies insurance is designed to protect the event rental company themselves. It is imperative to be properly protected these days. Too many issues these days require special consideration. Property damage, personal injuries and alcohol related incidents are top concerns. An auto accident involving an intoxicated guest or if a guest trips and falls on your front step or tent rope are items that can be addressed by this type of policy. This kind of policy is designed for these special needs.
Many banquet halls, event venues and some tent rental companies insist that the event host carries protection that not only protects themselves but protects the suppliers as well. A policy designed for your event will cover items not covered by your homeowners policy and any claim will not effect your existing insurance.
While liability insurance is always a major issue, cancellation insurace may be required for some types of events. Prepaid expenses to suppliers must be covered and are usually not refundable.
You must be aware of your obligations as an event planner, wedding coordinator or venue owner. If you are planning an upcoming event, ensure that you have the proper liability coverage, host liquor liability insurance and/or special event insurance policy to protect yourself, the venue and the guests at your event.
