And what about the women?

Women of all ages, yes I'm talking to you! A few days ago, I was walking down the street and came to a street crossing, in what only lasted 30 seconds my whole world suddenly stopped.

Two young girls, about 19 or so, where talking about how uninterested they were in politics and laws that will be added on in the near future. As they walked past I heard one of them say "Besides, I don't really care what happens with the poll on which elected candidate will win, nothing will change. I just care about having fun and not worrying about what's going on around me, that's just white noise to me." The two girls walked away while the pedestrian signal was green, meahwhile I stayed behind with my jaw to the floor.

How could that be? I know there are strong women that have intelligent opinions, and care about what's going on around them so deeply that they are willing to participate in the shaping of our future. I like to consider myself in that category. I then felt sad and frightened. The reason being that these girls didn't believe their thoughts, opinions and voice could change the direction our world was heading in. Imagine what our future would be if we all started believing, and thinking this way?

Women voices and opinions had been silenced in the past, but that was the past! Ladies this is now, and now is the time to use your voice and opinion.
