Everything About Warts

Warts are common skin problems caused by viral infection on the skin's top layer

. The virus is called HPV or Human Papilloma Virus. HPV causes keratin to grow in the epidermis faster than normal that is why you see warts (small and rough growth on the skin) appearing in different parts of your body. Though its usually harmless, warts can be embarrassing, ugly, and can sometimes itch or hurt. Take note that these are also contagious and can spread easily on other parts of your body if not treated or given attention.

Kinds of Warts:

Verucca Vulgaris/Common Warts- these are usually found on the hands but can appear anywhere. These may look like tiny cauliflowers and have a bumpy surface.

Verucca Plana/Flat Warts- these are usually color brown or yellow and smoother than other warts.

Veruccas/Plantar Warts these are usually found on the soles, heels and toes of the feet.

Filiform/Facial Warts-these are lengthy, slim, flesh colored warts that can appear in clusters around the eyelids, face, neck, or lips.

Mosaic/Plantar Type Warts- these usually grow on the hands and feet and appear in clusters.

Genital/Venereal Warts-these are warts found on external genitals, pubic area, in the area between the thighs, and can appear inside the vagina and in the anal canal. Genital warts are one of the most common kinds of STD (sexually transmitted diseases).

Normally, non-STD warts need not to be checked by doctors anymore as there are already lots of painless warts removals available. There are home remedies you could do without having to ask a doctor for a medication. There are also over- the-counter wart removal creams, ointments, chemicals to remove warts from the hands, feet, face, and other parts of the body. However, some people opt to visit a dermatologist to have them removed. To get rid of warts, a doctor will usually do cryosurgery ("freezing" the wart to destroy tissue), electrosurgery (burning), lasers, or cutting out the warts.

If home remedies dont work, I strongly suggest to visit the doctor and ask the best treatment for your warts.

Does Warts Come Back?

If the treatment used were able to kill the virus, your warts will permanently be gone but warts may come back if the killing of the virus that causes warts is unsuccessful. Genital warts are also more prone to come back because there's no cure for the virus that causes them and because warts are more difficult to control in a moist area.
