Moreover, technological advancements within the cosmetic industry have led to the launch of new and innovative products to even further enhance ones appearance. For instance, now we have not only lipstick, but also lip-gloss, lip plumper, lip balm, lip liner, lip primer, lip conditioner, lip boosters and so on to make lips look beautiful.

Contrary to popular belief, not all cosmetic products can be categorized as providing short-term solutions and false promises. There are very many products that are actually quite good for your skin and hair such as organic products and conditioning treatments. Many people take great care and time in selecting the perfect skin care cosmetics that actually protect, moisturize and repair skin and hair care cosmetics that protect, volumize, and nourish hair.

But how many of us have given the same amount of care, attention and importance we give to our health and appearance to the planet we live on? Are we concerned about making it a beautiful and safe place to live? If we cared then we would not have needed such a frantic call to action to save the planet. If we had been cautious and spent the same amount of time that we take in selecting products, our environment would have had fewer problems.

As people became aware of the environmental and health implications of their actions, and when issues like global warming and green house emissions started threatening our existence, we decided to do our part to save the planet. People have become environmentally conscious, and this consciousness has led to a new movement, called the green movement, that has considerably influenced peoples buying and living decisions. The conscious decision among many to adopt a toxin free lifestyle further led to the demand for natural and organic cosmetic products. This led to sweeping changes within the cosmetic industry. New manufacturing processes were adopted to ensure environmental sustainability.

The decision of so many to adopt an organic lifestyle also led to radical changes in cosmetic packaging since a great percentage of the toxic waste that piles up in landfills can be attributed to cosmetic packaging. Hence, measures were taken to select materials that are recyclable, bio-degradable, and non-polluting. The most preferred materials that are currently used for packaging organic cosmetics include glass, aluminum, paper, bamboo, wood, PET, PP, PEHD and others.

Besides these, organic cosmetic packaging manufacturers are exploring other possibilities for reducing their carbon footprint as much as possible. Plant-based biopolymers, material made by mixing wood fibers with substances like ABS, SAN or PP, banana paper and grass-based polypropylene are some of them. If all enterprises involved with wholesale cosmetic packaging do their part to develop environmentally friendly packaging materials, then the vision of a greener planet will soon be a reality.
