Exactly What Is A Webinar And What Are The Benefits For Attendees?
A webinar is basically a "web-based seminar", thus the shortened word.
It is is an online event which people view the action on your computer monitor and listen to via your computer speakers or perhaps a head set.
The advantage of a webinar means that you don't have to go anywhere else to receive some first-class coaching, and you can attend it in your pajamas if you desire! It also means that you can have the experience of being taught in a relaxed cozy.
They can be free or paid. Paid webinars are normally for more extensive training and may offer a Q&A session at some point. Everyone prefers a certain style of learning but I love webinars astheyprovide you with that personal touch.
If you have a subscription to a newsletter for example, you may be invited to a webinar via an email sent to you by the host. There will be a link in the email that you will be given to click on.
You will probably be given an option of two webinars being run on a certain week, so they are usually pretty flexible. This link will take you to a webpage which will give you the details i.e. dates and time. When you click on whichever one you choose, you will be asked for your name and email address, then asked to click on "submit" This means that you are then registered for that particular event.
On the day of the webinar and usually a few hours before, you will be sent a reminder email, just in case you have forgotten about it. Easily done with everything else that is going on in your life. There will another link for you to click on at the time of the webinar or a few minutes just before which will take you to a webpage. This page will then be live. You will see the information on the monitor and you will hear the host or hosts speaking to you via your speakers or headphone.
You don't need any special equipment to attend a webinar, just your pc and internet connection. A pen and a small note book would be helpful as you can make notes as you go along. Webinars can be one off or you can enroll for a "webinar series" which may be run on a weekly basis. There are both free and paid ones. Paid webinares usually provide more in depth coaching. These usually include a Q&A session at some point.
