Executive Mba Program At Iim-shillong

Indian Institute of Management Shillong has introduced new Executive MBA program in partnership with a Chinese University

. This executive program is designed to produce leaders who are ready to face any challenge globally.

The Indian Institute of Management is a premier management institute in the country having braches in several cities like Ahmadabad, Bangalore and Calcutta. The IIM at Shillong is the newest addition to this chain of management institutes. The institute is recently launched executive program with specialization in International Business. This one-year course aims to develop leadership abilities in students to be able to tackle global work environment.

This is a first of its kind MBA Program in the country with collaboration with a Chinese University. In the executive program, students time will divided equally and the second half of the program will be spend in China as interns. IIM Shillong has made tie-up with Ocean University of China for this executive program. Students will learn the business growth and development in a Chinese economy.

This premier institute has selected China over countries due to the simple reason that China has world largest economy and being neighbors it is but natural to understand how business happens. Until now, no other business management institute in the country has initiated education sharing with China. There is no management school in the country ventured in Chinese Education domain. According to Ashok K Dutta, director of IIM-S- says that this institute always aimed at setting new trends in business education and innovating courses and learning. The content of this 1-year program will focus on emerging economies of the BRICS nations, which are Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

The seats for this Executive MBA program are limited to 45 at present. For applying in this course, the candidates must have 3 years of experience in an executive position. The applicants must have a bachelors degree from reputed university. Admission for this course will be after two rounds of interviews (prelim and man). Interested candidates can submit their forms online.

This is a one-year residential course. Students will be provided accommodation in an apartment complex, very near to IIM-S campus. In China, the Ocean University of China will provide accommodation in the students guesthouse during the last six months stay in China.

According to sources, this one-year executive program will cost around 12 lakh INR. This includes the tuition fees and accommodation charges in India and China. Students will bear the cost of food, and Visa and air travel expenses. For these expenses, another 2-5 lakh should be added to the total study cost.

Students from any part of the globe are eligible to apply for this one year executive programs. The first batch of Executive Program at Shillong begins from April 6 2012.
