Explanation of a Break Up in 5 Stages

Five stages are gone through in each finale of a relationship by all parties

. The experience can be easier if you understand each of the stages and what they entail.

Stage 1 C Acknowledgment

Accepting the breakup is the first step. Acknowledging the event is more important than knowing why right now. At this stage, you will feel alone and adrift. The emotions you are experiencing are important to recognize. Dissecting your emotions is not going to help you at this moment. Just face what you are feeling. Let the good things that are happening to you and around be what is most in front of you. Physical activity is very important. Take a walk through the park or a nearby nature preserve. Consider taking up a new hobby. Loving family might appreciate you spending time with them. Get your mind off of it with activities that keep you going and focused on other things.

Stage 2 C Let it OutExplanation of a Break Up in 5 Stages

Of the 5 stages of a break up, the second one involves both the physical and emotional release. Bottling up your emotions can cause harm both emotionally and physically. There is physical and emotional pain that comes with a breakup, and sharing that pain with a loving relative or friend can help start the healing. If you have nobody in your life that you trust, it would be wise to find a professional counselor to talk to. Attempting to keep a "stiff upper lip" may be enough to fool your friends, but you will gain no healing comfort. It may be helpful to write your feelings down in a letter of journal. It can help to read them over, although the writing process itself ca be helpful enough.

Stage 3 C Nurturing

Stage three of the five is nurturing. If your life enters one of these kind of lows, it is important to be in a loving and nurturing surrounding. You will find that your friends and family will be there for you. Accept the advice of friends and family. Keep in mind that their intention is to help because they care. Temper any strong negative reactions, even if what they say really hurts. It is their intention to be helpful. As they try to defend you, many of your friends may attack your ex. You can simply tell them, if you are troubled by this, that your focus is not on him, but on your own feelings.

Stage 4 C Reward and Fun

Mourning a loss will be the normal feeling following a breakup. You do not have to make it a time of isolation and sadness. Number 4 is to have fun. You need to go out the door for a while. Have fun. If you have a club membership, start attending the meetings. Look for old friends to hang out with. Start developing good times with them. Try to grow some confidence for a better you. This sad ending can become the launch of a new exciting phase of your life.

Stage 5 C Moving On

As time goes by the breakup will affect you less and will takes its place in your history. Appropriately, you will be able to focus on your future. Your ex will take his place in your past, you will focus on new experiences and relationships. Once this happens, you are in the last part of the fifth and final stage of a breakup.
