Exploring Belfast's Literary Past

Belfast is a rich and vibrant city which has a fascinating past

, and many people choose to visit the city for a short break, such as a long weekend away. Belfast was once a major port which saw a lot of trade and industry, particularly in linens. It was also the birthplace of the ill-fated Titanic, and the city's history is accompanied by a great literary legacy of writers and poets who have been inspired by Belfast. It has a varied monthly programme of exhibitions, readings and lectures, and has a coffee shop in which you can catch up on the morning's papers over a pot of tea.
