Goals

Setting unrealistic goals is a major problem that plagues most affiliate marketers, which results in becoming quickly disenchanted due to non-attainment of their goals. Setting goals is most important but you must set realistic ones. For example an affiliate marketer is not likely to attain $5,000 a month when starting up. For beginners and first timers, you should look at something more modest. Start out with something smaller like $50-$100 a day and as you learn the trade, the more you learn, the more you earn.

While earning an income of $50 a day may seem small and non-lucrative, it is achievable and being in a continuous learning process, it's a good place and budget to begin with. Give it some time and you will substantially increase your extra income, in turn setting your income goal a little higher as you go along.

Revise your goals periodically. Remembering that your small weekly/monthly achievements should point in the direction of a larger single goal that you want to achieve, whether it be in terms of success or amounts of income you earn. Write them down and keep them in a visible place by your computer, on a notice board or fridge door. This will help focus your energy towards your goals.
