School leavers are often disillusioned after the first days at college. They thought that the student community would welcome them with open arms. In reality, teens often lack communicative skills and have problems with establishing contacts with their peers. Everyday routine absorbs them and it might take much time to make friends with their fellow students. Present day educational strategies provide not many opportunities for establishing contacts between the learners. Still, healthy environment and feeling of fellowship is important for achieving better results.

Professors do not appreciate communicating with peers at classes and lectures. As a rule, it draws learners attention from the subject matter of the class discussion. Still, students manage to communicate despite the teachers prohibition. In order to prevent the professors dissatisfaction it is preferable to look for other opportunities for establishing contacts with peers. Extracurricular activities could be helpful for the process of freshmens socialization.

Establishing contacts in clubs

Though some students complain that they are short of time, it is possible to allot time for attending clubs. Extracurricular activities help students not only relax after a long working day and to reduce their stress, but to make friends with other students. Psychologists advise to make acquaintances with people in not stressful situations. People are expected to establish contacts easier if they are relaxed and enjoy their life.

Choosing appropriate clubs and extracurricular activities a person solves several problems of student life. It will help to realize ones potential in case if it is impossible to do it at class. Another positive consequence is persons successful socialization in new unknown environment. Going to an extracurricular club, a person has to make sure that

it will not become a hindrance for ones successful studies;

the club will help to develop ones talents;

it does not take too much time.
