Extrusion Blow Molding: The Process Of Techniques

Extrusion blow molding is know as EBM in short

. It is a kind of process which functions while manufacturing. By this process, a pressure is out from formed hollowness. In other terms, extrusion blow molding makes the pressure in forming a cavity to blow out of it. It is part of blow molding. That is why extrusion blow molding works on the theory of it. Basically, by this process plastic is faded. Having faded it is squeezed out into a hollow tube. Then the hollow tube is caught by cold metal that close it into. During this, air is blown to make pressure in the hollow tube.

The function of extrusion blow molding can be explained to make it clear. There should be a kind of thing which can be melted into liquid like plastic, iron etc. Other required thing is a hollow tube in which raw material get into. After putting plastic into the tube, it requires air pressure. Then a blow mold makes pressure for that. Getting pressure it inflates outer of the hollow tube. Meanwhile it is cooled sufficiently.

Continuous variation

Intermittent variation

The continuous variation of EBM

In this process, the hollow tube is continuously extruded. The extruded individual part is the result of a process. That result is cut by suitable tools for further process. An interesting thing is that it has special equipment to complete the function. A first and main tool of EBM is rotary wheel molding systems. And the supplementary tool is shuttle machinery.

Intermittent variation of EBM

In this, the procedure is done in two ways. The first way is known as straight intermittent which is similar to injection molding that is mentioned in a later paragraph. And the second way of intermittent variation is based on accumulator method. In this method accumulator collects squeezed out metal after it has been cold enough. It has also its own equipment to complete the task: Reciprocating screw machinery and accumulator head machinery.

Injection mold maker

Injection mold making is who makes cavity glass and plastic on the method of injection blow molding. Actually, injection blow molding is another part of blow molding. This kind of procedure is employed while producing cavity glass and plastic in huge quantity. IBM means injection blow molding has also its own process to function. There is a core pin on which polymer is injected. And the core pin is rotated at there were blow molding station functions. It is rarely used procedure in blowing molding.
