FDA recalls dangerous approved prescription drugs
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recalled more than 500 prescription cough, cold and allergy products Wednesday, citing its office had not properly evaluated the medication for safety, effectiveness and quality.
Deborah Autor, the Director of the Office of Compliance in the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research said during a press release for the agency "Removing these unapproved products from the market will reduce potential risks to consumers."
The FDA continued to say that removing these cough, cold and allergy products from the market poses no harm to consumers, however taking the unapproved drugs may put the health of those users at risk. So it is strongly advised that if you have already purchased any of the recalled products to discontinue use, and advise your physician immediately.
"There are many FDA-approved prescription products, as well as appropriately marketed over-the-counter products, available to treat cough, cold, and allergy symptoms; so, we expect little or no negative impact on consumers from the removal of these unapproved products," Autor added.
Among the recalled drugs listed by the FDA is Pediahist, a cold formula labeled for patients as young as 1 month old. FDA regulations do not recommend cold medicines for any children under age 2. Other drugs involved in the recall include Cardec, Lodrane and Organidin.
The FDA said no serious side effects from the drugs have been reported, but some users have complained of drowsiness, sedation and irritability after taking them.
"Companies that manufacture these medications must stop making them within 90 days and stop shipping the products within 180 days", the FDA said.

Master Mineral Solution (MMS), or also know as Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2), is known by the American Society of Analytical Chemists as the #1 killer of pathogens, (viruses, bacterias, cancers, germs, parasites, fungi, and mold), in the world.
MMS or ClO2 causes no damage to the body - only the pathogens are destroyed (via oxidation) and deteriorates mostly into just table salt within an hour or two of use. MMS has been tried and proven in the field, and to date has been responsible for over 75,000 legitimate cures of the disease malaria and tens of thousands of cures to other diseases including forms of cancer, AIDS, Hepatitis A, B, C and many more. The actual compound, and we are speaking about the compound chlorine dioxide (ClO2), has been used in industry for a good part of seventy years - from cleaning hospitals, destroying bacteria on food and freshly slaughtered livestock, being used as an additive to municipal water to kill of cryptosporidium, Guardia, E coli, and even anthrax in some instances. Most people in developed nations are already ingesting MMS on a daily basis because it exists in our tap water.
This compound is nothing short of amazing. MMS is selective in what it will kill, leaving normal body tissue and beneficial intestinal flora completely alone - whilst preferentially targeting any pathogenic stressor that has a ph value less than 7 (being acidic), and is positively charged.
So if you are tired of the FDA and the pharmaceutical companies poisoning our society, then do your part and learn more about MMS today. Don't delay, make sure to order your MMS today before its too late!
