The invention of fluoropolymers has had a significant impact on the designs of many products throughout the world. For instance, installing a coating for FEP properties on the surface of the X-35 Joint Strike Fighter will help fight off the constant particles and sea spray found on the deck of aircraft carriers and help reduce the chances of getting pits and grooves on the airframe. Altogether, this technology has severely improved the ways to combat upkeep on expensive technology of military equipment.
