Facebook Addiction

Facebook Addiction

Facebook Addiction

I woke up this morning and realized I have an addiction. My name is Nick and I am a Facebook addict. There, I have stood up and said it! I went to my doctor and asked him if I could have a few weeks in getting cured my Facebook addiction, and I was told that it would be pointless as it is incurable.

He then admitted he has a Facebook addiction too!! I then had to sit there for an hour as he started on about his fucking problems!! What has the world come to when we can't even get help for admitting we have addictions!!

He however suggested me some very good tips to hide my filthy habit from the rest of my family, some of my favorites that I will be using are: squirt air freshener so that it smells like you got off Facebook and did some cleaning, buy disposable clothes so that the pile of clothing that is propping up your ceiling can be bagged and donated to the unfortunate souls who don't have internet access.

I'm a bit of NERD that spends hours upon hours (did I say hours?) in front of my laptop. Ok, in these times of Facebook and Twitter, who doesn't? And more that I majored in Computer Science and have wrote many programs in my high school. According to me if somebody asking me to play games I will invite them to Online games, if somebody asking me to be in touch with them I will be connected to the person on Facebook, if somebody asking me write letters I will write emails to them. That's what my case was.

Some wise man said "The disease of addiction can manifest itself in a variety of mental obsessions and compulsive actions that have nothing to do with drugs" I feel there is nothing wrong with Facebook. Facebook for me is a great place to catch up with people I haven't thought of in a while. Old school friends camp friends new friends family, anyone who enjoys a quick game. It's also a great place to get to know someone. Then I love posting up my favorite songs from YouTube.

I enjoy seeing a picture of my friend when I send them a message. I am a fan of the status update. I even like notifications and am only mildly concerned when I am friend-requested by a total stranger. I enjoy clicking through pictures of my long lost friends' houses in the suburbs and seeing their kids covered in spaghetti. It's sort of exotic to a country girl transplant like me. I'm on Facebook all the time! I go to the site not even conscious that I am going to it. I turned on my computer this morning with the intention of opening Word first thing, and where did I find myself? You guessed it. Facebook! I am addicted!

And truly I am fine with it and so are my friends because they are all into it. That's probably the only way to be in touch with my friends who are staying out of the country. So I was very happy with me and my Facebook until I started to have this weird on and off with my internet connection.

I was a little ignorant about it at first as was busy on Facebook always. I started to take 5 minutes to get login to my account. And then it took round about 15 minutes to get connected. That's was pretty prominent for me to call my Internet service provider.

They sent a technician who was nothing but a moron. He checked my modem thrice but still couldn't make out the problem and then at end he said "I think the problem is with your computer". He got baffled and went off. That's was an amazing technician who knew nothing.

The next day I researched a bit on Google about Internet connection problem and I found this site: "www.iyogi.net" that had solutions to my problem. I went through the steps and performed them as it is guided. And I felt more knowledgeable than that wacky technician. I could resolve my problem with iYogi's help. This company was amazing. They helped me accessing my Facebook all over again with any disturbances.
