Facebook is a great place for any business. It is the second most popular web site on the internet. And not only is it popular, it is based around networking with people. And that is what business is all about, its about networking with people.
But a lot people who use Facebook for their business are doing it wrong, and are therefore not get the results that they expect. Facebook is a means to an end. What I mean by this, is that Facebook is not the place that you market your business. On Facebook, you need to market yourself.
Marketing yourself on Facebook may take a couple of months, or even longer. But you need to understand that Facebook is not a place where you place an ad on a group wall and then expect to get sales.
What you need to do, is join groups that relate to your industry. This way you are going to be able to network with people who would be interested in your service. Let say you are an internet marketer, and you are promoting a home business opportunity. You would find a group for home business', or MLM etc. Make sure that you join group / groups that have a good couple of thousands of members.
You may be tempted at this point to post your link on the group wall? But if you do, people with either report your link as spam, ignore and in some cases get you removed from the group.
You need to bring value to the members of the group. You need to get the group members to understand that you are an industry leader, and you know what you are talking about.
So we will stay with the home business example. At this point, you will have joined a group about MLM. Being in the industry you know that what a lot of people in this business want is traffic and leads. So what you need to do is help them get this. Have a look around on YouTube for some helpful information. Copy the link and paste it to the group wall.
So you are providing value, you are getting yourself noticed. People will start to add you, and start to networking with you. Again, when they start doing this don't sell them your business.
If you have an opt in list, tell them that you have a free gift for them and send them to that page.
Now this is where having your own website is going to come in really helpful. You will find that a lot people may ask about you. Or read your BIO to try to find out more about you. If you can say, "Look, why not read about me on my website" and then send them to your website. And in your BIO area, you can put, "to find out more about me, go to my website".
And on your website you would of course, have a bit about you. But also on your website you can have a section for your business. Also, have our own website allows you to brand yourself.
