Since they're no longer out there, folks will pay massive money for them.

Personally I do not feel that it's a horrible thing, but it does present people today with an chance to collect large ammounts of gold and sell it on ebay for instance, that's a bad thing as it's against the rules and encourages individuals to use auto miners etc to gain gold.
