Facts to Consider Before Choosing A Hair Removal Method
People have removed hair in various ways for a long time and for various reasons
. As it was once because of a religion or tradition, now we shave, wax, depilate our hair because of our looks and in some cases because of medical reasons. Whatever your reason there are some things you need to know about hair removal and various methods before you choose the one right for your skin.
The first and the most basic thing anyone should do is to visit a dermatologist and ask for advice. That is the basic thing you need to do, the dermatologist will be able to determine your skin type and recommend what hair removal methods would be best for your skin.
But for those that aren't going to listen to that advice here are some things you need to know. There are dozens of hair removal methods, from shaving and waxing to plucking, laser removal, hair inhibitors and electrolysis, plus many more. Each one of these has its benefits and flaws, but it all depends on the person. One method may be good for one person but bad for another.
So again it comes down to two things, either you experiment and see what type best suits you or go to a dermatologist and get that done without experimenting and putting your health at risk. Before you consider experimenting consider the following things:
- How strong is your hair
- Have you had any skin irritations or is your skin very sensitive
- How fast does your skin grow
- And how much money can you spend on hair removal
These are the basic questions you need to ask yourself before choosing a method. For most people the last one is the deciding factor, which is why they choose shaving, waxing or plucking. Each one of these is inexpensive and very easy to use, although plucking is a great time consumer. But all of these can lead to major skin irritation and ingrown hairs.
If you have more money to spare there are better methods that will leave your skin care free. But you will also need to consider how fast your hair is growing and how strong it is. If you have strong hair then maybe the best course of action would be to use hair inhibitors over a period of time to soften the hair, which also works great for fast growing hair. Hair inhibitors slow the growth of the hair and also make the hair silky, which makes it quite easy to remove it later without complications or skin irritation. If you can afford to have laser hair removal then go or it, find a good dermatologist and stick with him, as in most cases the hair will not be removed permanently from one attempt, but you will have to go one or two times a year until the hair is completely gone.
There are many other things to consider when choosing a hair removal method that is best for your skin, in the end the best course of action you can take is to consult with your dermatologist.
