Factualism Is Not Tantamount To Realism

Each genre and painting style in the history was all generated due to the representation of advanced cultures

. From the history of Western art, a variety of genres continued to evolve one after another. Why does this happen? Because the former genres and styles did not meet the needs of the times. They gradually decayed and were eliminated and replaced by the new art ideas and new painters. In 19th Century of France, realism was on behalf of the current social cultures, but was more avant-garde and was not accepted by the majority of the people.

Now there is a strong change in the ear of pluralism in China. Which kind of concept of art, art genre or humanistic thought can represent this era? Since the reform and opening up, China has a diversified society. Modern art with western unique concepts was the current art in terms of time. Nobody can avoid this reality that China's current diversified social circumstances. If from the perspective of the west to approach the contemporary China, then what the western world need is obviously in pace with their speed.

China's overall culture does not yet have contemporary art, and then realism is a reflection of the most basic social culture. Out of the culture in transformation period, China is more likely to adapt to the realism consciousness. Because we are educated by school education, so we very naturally have realistic approaches. The reason why we have presented realism today is that realism is much closer to the most fundamental Chinese culture in consciousness, culture and idea in the transition from agricultural culture to industrial culture.
