False Protection With The Security Master Antivirus

Security Master AV is a piece of rogue software that attempts to replicate all the

functionality of a true antivirus program, instead it only offers a scam to people that install it or have it installed. It works by fooling the user into believing that they are running a true antivirus scanner when in actuality the program is a piece of malware. After it is installed on the computer it claims to "scan" the computer and find many different files that it claims are viruses. In actuality the files that it found were created by the Security Master AV software in an attempt to fool the user. If the scan results remain ignored for a period of time the software will use a series of popup reminders with fake warnings that some sort of action needs to be taken. Finally it informs the user that the only way to remove the programs are with the paid version of the software. After purchasing the software the user finds out that it is not a legitimate piece of software, and they have lost the money that they spent on it.

Security Master AV is spread through trojans, false websites that pretend to scan a computer, and simply by misleading people that it is a useful piece of software. This rogue software proved to be even more dangerous as it blocks true antivirus software from running, it can disable the task manager, registry editors, and other programs and tools that are used to lean computers. Internet Explorer is also at risk as it is vulnerable to having true antivirus sites blocked or redirected to sites that will want you to install more software that can infect your computer.

If you have installed the rogue software or found Security Master AV installed on your computer it can be removed in one of two ways. The first is to find a tool online that will remove it automatically. Great care has to be taken with this as it is important to make sure that the tool comes from a trusted and reputable software site. The second way is more complex and involves manually removing the files from the computer.
