This could not be further from the truth. In actuality Desktop Security is a piece of malware that is little more than a program that attempts to scam people into purchasing a piece of software that has no practical purpose at all. The software is generally installed using a Trojan, meaning that the user will not be aware that the software is being installed.

When the fake scan of the computer is complete Desktop Security will inform the user that they must purchase the full version of the software to remove all of the viruses that it claims to have found. Even by purchasing the software the user is never able to delete the fake viruses or uninstall the program. The good news is that there are two ways to free your computer from the rogue software. The first is to attempt to remove it with an antivirus tool or a program that has been created to automatically remove the program. This may prove to be a challenge as Desktop Security will attempt to block all tools and programs that can be used to clean a computer.
