A seed diet alone will not provide enough nutrition for seed eating birds, even if varied types of seed are offered. To make sure your bird has all the essential vitamins and minerals the diet must include vegetables, fruit and pellets too. Fruit and vegetables must be washed and any excess in the cage must be taken out so there is nothing left to rot. By giving your bird pellets it is not able to choose only its favorite foods and therefore it will get the required nutrition it needs.
