Fantasy Basketball Player Highlight Report
Fantasy Basketball Player Highlight Report
Okay, fantasy basketball fans. The NBA All-Star weekend is done with and I hope you fellow fantasy basketball players enjoyed it as much as I did. Now we're ready to face the remaining time left in fantasy basketball season as the hoopla of the NBA All-Star has subsided. However, before we move on, let's feature and discuss one NBA athlete who has sparked a bit of controversy as he was not selected to be part of the Western Conference All-Star team in spite of his skills in the basketball court.
In the fantasy basketball world, he was one of the players topping the list in the draft pool. He is none other than the power forward La Marcus Aldrige of the Portland Trail Blazers.
LaMarcus Aldrige has been generating fantasy heat and has climbed several notches in our fantasy basketball position ladder. The power forward of the Portland Trail Blazers has been averaging 21.6 PPG, 9.1 RPG, 2.0 APG and 1.1 SPG in the 2010-2011 NBA season. He has also notched 1.4 blocks per game.
LaMarcus Aldrige has a career shooting percentage of 48.9 percent from the field. On the free throw line, he has a career average of 76.6 percent.
The power forward ranked high in most fantasy basketball leagues because it has been observed that he is the NBA player who has improved the most, making him one of the hottest big men in the league. This big dude Aldrige has skills that not many taller than average NBA player have and that is he can easily shoot more than 70 percent from the free throw line while most men struggle.
Okay, so we may be biased because as long-time fantasy basketball players, we just enjoy drafting point guards. Is it not just so enjoyable to be the champ in the assists category every single week in the head to head leagues? Yeah, that is something we love to happen.
After stating that, we have to mention that as long time fantasy basketball players, the fantasy basketball draft we have put up has not been so guard-centric. This is really a good strategy to follow.
Currently, one of us has the 10th draft position already put up containing very good and potentially hot NBA big men. These NBA athletes have put the fantasy basketball team I have made on top with solid scores, rebounding performance to be delighted about, high field goal percentage and an awesome free throw performance.
Some of the players I have on my team that fit the bill include David Lee, Marc Gasol, Pau Gasol and, of course, big man Aldridge. The draft has been doing quite well because of the star quality performance that the two Gasols and Aldrige have been showing.
