Nearly twenty percent of all homes in the U.S. will be burglarized this year. To me that is a shocking figure. When you consider that sixty percent of all home burglaries happen thru unlocked door and windows maybe I shouldn't be shocked except at how easy homeowners make it for the bad guys. C'mon folks!
Homeowners can take many proactive moves to make home burglary harder and improve their home security. Many of them are easy to do and FREE. For example you can start or join a 'neighborhood watch' program thru your local Sheriff's office. It is easy to do, free and the best part is it works.

1.Remove potential hiding places around your home's lower level windows and doors.
2.Put up a sign warning of a viscous guard dog-you don't even need the dog.
3.Install window and door alarms. Burglars don't like noise.
4.Consider some motion activated spotlights. Burglars don't like light either.
