Plenty of water is also important for your cat's overall health, so make sure that your pet always has access to fresh drinking water as well as enjoying a healthy and nutritious diet.

Infestations

Infestations are a major cause of hair loss in cats and dogs, and the itching and baldness can leave your pet feeling very sore and uncomfortable. Help your cat to avoid this issue by ensuring that it is fully treated against parasites such as fleas and ticks there are plenty of treatments out there that you can easily administer to minimise the risk of infestation.

Other causes

There are a number of other possible causes of hair loss in cats, and this includes:

Overactive thyroid

Allergies (such as food or environment)

Worms and mange

Bacterial infections

Parasite infestations

Hyperadrenocorticism

Of course, it can be very difficult to determine which of these issues are to blame for your cat's hair loss. However, rather than taking a wait and see approach make sure that you take the cat for a check up so that necessary treatment can be started as quickly as possible.
