The practice and principles of Feng Shui teach us not only do we clean up mess, disorder and huff and muff around our homes but also we clean the clutter out of our minds and lives, replacing old unwise and unwieldy ideas with new and better ones. Its all about change, renewal and rebirth - even if it is the fall pre-winter doldrums time of year.

To begin with clean off the outside of your fridge. Toss anything out that is way old and even a bit on the chancy side. Not used, or seldom ever used - toss it out. If there are any condiment bottles that are 1/2 or 1/3 full then those are ingredients and relished often used, or perhaps used from time to time for special or odd occasions. Have a near empty bottle or canister that looks like its been sitting there with no apparent use in sight. Put it into your trash or recycling bin.

Take the time and efforts required to de-clutter your pantry shelves next. No one really like clutter. Clutter is usually, though not always the sign of a cluttered mind, and a disorganized household that runs by "management by crises. What does crisis style management entail? Its where the householder never plans ahead, is too busy putting out fires that averting seems to run on disaster settings., coping with disaster to disaster. The amazing part is that often those involved in such tactics in running their lives, never seem to have time, are always on the verge of exhaustion and are in general no fun to be around. It is as if they thrive on this lifestyle, thinking that they are accomplishing great things. Take the time to de-clutter your home and abode. Throw out what you do not need. Arrange what is left in a purposeful and eventful manner. It is much easier that way.

Lastly if can be said that a "new broom sweeps all". Take the time to thoroughly sweep out your kitchen and all areas with flooring - be it linoleum, ceramic tiles or whatever. Go into corners to sweep away all dust and hair balls. Your last act in this whole process of Feng Shui house cleaning will be to take out these trapping to the trash bin. Good riddance. Feng Shui!
