Festive Fashion - Go Traditional With A Twist!
With festivities and celebrations all around, it becomes really tough to find a dazzling dress for every occasion
. Half of your dresses are already seen by your friends and the rest are not hot enough. If you too are going though the what to wear dilemma this festive season, we bring you some easy and quick tips to give a twist to what you already have and create an attire that never fails to stun!
According to fashion stylish Karishma Berry, who is behind Hindi rock band Euphorias upcoming album Items look, Fusion is the mantra for this season.
So, rather than resorting to the good old saree or the usual lehenga, how about giving them a peppy twist?
Check out some quick & easy tips to light up your style this season
1. Jacket mania: Team up a saree, suit or even a lehnga with an embellished long jacket. With the winters round the corner, it would not only be a great addition to your attire but will also add a pinch of style.
2. Belt it up: If you want to keep it smart yet not spend too much, wear any nice saree with an embellished belt on the waist. This small accessory can change your look completely from traditional and usual to contemporary yet subtle. If a contemporary belt is too much of an experiment, borrow your moms or dadis tagdi/kamarband (waistbelt) and highlight your sexy slim midriff!
3. Swap that blouse: Another small change from the usual that can give you an edge above others is by wearing a saree with a lace top instead of the usual blouse. Lace is classic and teaming it up with a saree will give a classic yet modern look to your dress. What more? If you dont mind some skin show, go for backless or halter-neck versions of blouse.
Bored of sarees & lehengas? Check out some more peppy options...
4. Corset magic: If saree or lehenga is not your pick and you wanna go for something more contemporary - Pair a corset with a layered, asymmetrical or a flared skirt. Complete the look with a dupatta around the neck and your indo-western look for the season is ready!
5. Skirt it out!: You could also pair your skirt with a top and an embroidered silk shrug worn on top of it.
6. Anarkali look: Floor sweeping or chic knee-length, Anarkali kurtas in any length are a rage this season. So, flaunt your anarkali look with big jhumkas and you are ready to stun!
Tell us what how did you find these tips and what are you going to wear this festive season?
