Kedarnath is one of the holiest places for the Hindus in India. Being a prime pilgrimage center, there aren't any 3 star hotels in Kedarnath. The fact remains that the people who come to visit this place don't expect much luxury as they have embarked on a religious trip. The hotels all have just about basic facilities though the staffs are very polite and well mannered. In spite of this, there are a few good hotels with little more than basic necessities, catering to the tourists who would want a comfortable stay at the place. Let's read about them.

The Chardham Camp is a unique tented spot for the pilgrims visiting Kedarnath. If there were any 3 star hotels in Kedarnath, even they wouldn't have been located at an idyllic spot like the Camp, which gives a nice view of the shrine. The prices are quite moderate too. Accommodation with attached bathrooms is provided and only vegetarian food, comprising of both Indian and Continental is served. Even Yoga classes are conducted to learn the beautiful art. The Camp is an ideal stay if you are a pilgrim visiting this place. It is a nice chance for you to mingle with the locals and the pilgrims alike and have a pleasant time.

The Punjab Sindh Awas is the most comfortable and decent place to stay in Kedarnath. It offers good luxury and facilities, equal to any number of 3 star hotels in Kedarnath (if there is one). The rooms have a homely essence to them. The tariff is also quite minimal compared to the other places in Kedarnath. They also provide 24 hours room service and also electricity back up in case of a black out. The hotel houses a nice Indian restaurant which serves good food. The staffs are also quite well mannered.

The Jalandhar House is another good hotel in Kedarnath. The temple can be reached from the hotel by a 500 meter trek. All the rooms are equipped with modern facilities. Equipped with fine linen and interiors, the hotel makes for a relaxed and comfortable stay for you. The prices are extremely moderate. The hotel has a restaurant which serves purely vegetarian food.

Although there are no 3 star hotels in Kedarnath, the hotels present offer good comfort and luxury equal to that of a 3 star hotel. The basic reason of non availability of 3 star hotels is that being a pilgrimage center, no one comes to experience luxury at its best!
