Fighting Acne is Not Something People Enjoy
Acne is pretty much hated universally. Most of us put a ton of effort into keeping breakouts at bay. We spend tons of money on products that are supposed to give us better and acne free skin. It is disappointing for many adults to realize that they are not able to completely outgrow acne issues. Many adults fight acne for their whole lives. If you are tired of dealing with pimples and bad skin, here are some things you can try to help clear things up.
You need to keep your sheets, blankets and especially your pillowcases as clean as possible. Some people can go weeks and weeks without changing their linens or washing their blankets. Try not to make this type of living a habit if you are prone to acne. Make sure that, at the very least, your pillowcases get washed and cleaned every two days or so. This will help you keep your face as clean as possible while you are sleeping. You should also take care to always wear clean clothing and pajamas. Something as seemingly benign as wearing last night's pajamas could be just enough to clog some of the pores in your face and cause new pimples to form by morning. Try wearing less makeup or choosing a brand that makes cosmetics out of lighter materials. Cut down on the number of products you cake on your face by buying a foundation and other types of makeup that have sunscreen in them. Consider choosing makeup that has had vitamins and nutrients added to it so that you are helping your skin when you put it on each morning instead of potentially damaging it. Don't base your make up choices on price alone. Try not to smear on more makeup than you really need. You want to wear very little to no makeup. Don't fret; you can still look amazing without caking layers of stuff onto your face! This is also important: do not go to bed with makeup still on your face. Leaving on your makeup overnight is one of the best ways to make sure that you wake up to a face full of zits and pimples.
If you do wake up to an acne flare up, do not let yourself pick at your face! Acne needs to be left alone to heal. It is always better to leave a breakout alone. You are still allowed to wash your face and treat your breakout with some acne fighters but do not pick at your face or try to pop any of the pimples. It is true that acne can take a few days to heal properly. What would you like to see the most? A couple of days sporting a few spots or decades sporting spot scars?
It is not that hard to fight against acne and keep your skin clean. Some people are able to fight acne simply by washing their face twice a day. Others use heavy handed oil and acne zappers. There are also people who choose to fight acne with diet and exercise. Take your time to experiment and figure out what works best for you. You need to go slowly--try each acne fighter for a while.
Nothing will work overnight so give all of your trials at least a week or two to start working before moving on to something new.
