While many teachers have struggled to land a job, mostly as a result of nationwide budget cuts, teachers involved in the TESOL classes sometimes have to turn down jobs. As of right now the demand for teachers willing to move away from home and teach English as a second language far exceeds the supply. The sooner you jump on this opportunity and get yourself certified with appropriate TESOL classes, the better the chances are of you finding a job.

Not all teachers will be as highly in demand as others. Right now, the teachers that have the easiest time landing English Teaching Jobs happen to be the ones that are bilingual, especially if they speak a combination of both Spanish and English. While these positions have the highest demand, even teachers with only one language have been able to find some really good. One of the biggest reasons that some teachers hesitate when it comes to joining the TESOL program has to do with the fact that theyre wary about the idea of having to bounce from one school to another. Many think that they will never feel settled. While its true that some of the programs teachers do move around a lot, this is usually their choice. They want to see the world and experience many different cultures so they seek out the short term jobs. There are also long term openings available for those who dont like the idea of having to constantly move around. Some TESOL teachers have only moved once and couldnt be happier.
