It has been predicted time and again by different people in the know about the functionalities

of what HR stands for as well as the changing face of the job market as it stands in the USA. However, some of us Indians may still wonder as to what has that got to do with us? In fact, it is common knowledge and an accepted fact that If America sneezes, the world catches a cold. This has been proved to be so in the past with the recent trends that are seen in the global human resource market scenario.

The situation in many countries these days with the development of newer technologies and automation is that the middle levels of jobs are vanishing. There are either vacancies at the top of the corporate ladder or at the bottom of the ladder. This phenomenon is referred by many as polarization of the job market. However, when the same is seen with reference to India , placement consultants in India do not seem to be perturbed. This can be because of the fact even in the present situation, the jobs that are being taken out of the markets there are being outsourced here.

Hence there seems to be no dearth of kpo jobs in Mumbai at least in the immediate future. With the new waves of graduates coming out of all kinds of institutions whether it is a plain graduation or graduation from professional courses, Indian additions to the job market scenario still have the advantage of being spoiled for choice.

It is however an irony of life that the new waves of young graduates should be happy with the ever dropping exchange rate of the rupee vis--vis the US Dollar. After all, if the rupee climbs against the dollar, the absolute figures that the candidate could earn is reduced in that proportion. Conversely, if the rupee dips, the figures offered is relatively more. However, the catch lies in the ability of the rupee to buy the number of goods.

To come back to the point, the present scenario calls for extra efforts on the part of the candidate who aspires to find job in India even if the candidate doesnt aspire to move abroad in the hope to find greener grass on the other side of the fence. This will help him or her to avoid being caught in the job polarization trap in the long run.
