Find Out If Taekwondo Training Is Valid In Street Fighting!
This next quote is applicable to nearly every situation you can think of
. "If you want to be a millionaire, you need to learn from a millionaire." Street fighting follows this same principle. You have to talk to real fight survivors in order to figure out what to do on your own! In both my time as a bouncer and a prison inmate, I have quite a bit of experience getting through fights. It doesn't matter if you have black belts in martial arts. At the end of the day, in a real fight, will you be able to use all of those complicated moves to win? You might have a little bit of an edge, but you'll have more of a chance if you learn some street techniques as well!
Street Fighting Taekwondo Tip #1 - Bite whenever you can! After all, someone is attacking you with extreme force, you need to use every weapon at your disposal! Any appendage that you can get a good bite on, you should take advantage of that opportunity and bite! The amount of damage and serious pain you can cause with biting is incredible! Basically if you are going to die, do anything that matters like biting! If you manage to bite the person attacking you, you'll be able to strike fear into them and make them respect you.
Street Fighting Taekwondo Tip #2 - Use your kicks to hurt them in sensitive areas. Try not to make your kicks too fancy, because it's far too easy to trip you up, grab the leg, and put you in an even more vulnerable position than you were in before, so avoid roundhouses and spin kicks. Just kick in the groin, shin and knee area, allowing you to keep your center of gravity low, unless you can easily get to the facial area, in which case go for it! You can easily dispel your attacker if you hit them in the knees, shins, and groin.
Street Fighting Taekwondo Tip #3 - Try to learn how to improvise in a fight, instead of training yourself to combat calculated moves. Don't practice on your own - get a buddy, put some padding on, and have him attack you realistically. This will allow you to actually learn how to defend yourself in a fight where you can't actually predict what's going to happen next, giving you quite a edge!
Remember that any type of martial arts training is good but it's best to blend different styles.
