There wouldn't be much of a need for books that tell us that men are from Mars and that women are from Venus if there weren't any truth behind the glaring differences between the two. Indeed, the sexes see the world differently from each other, and more so when it comes to talk of dating and relationships.

Stereotypes would tell us that men are more likely in for it for the physicality of it all, unlike women who seek the emotional security of the supposed sacred partnership. Reality check: not everyone follows these standards. And when you've fallen head over heels for a guy, nothing kills the feeling more than discovering that his emotions aren't mutual. So how do you distinguish boyfriend material from bad boy player? Obviously, you wouldn't be here reading this if you knew how to.

You may have gone out for more than a couple of dates, he rings you up frequently, and makes sure that you guys are always in touch, but you still need to be on the lookout in case he's after something else and not a relationship. In as much as you'd be tempted to, don't invest too much emotion into a guy until you've made sure that he's the right recipient for such.

He's a keeper when he shows that he genuinely cares for you; not by words, but through actions. It doesn't even have to be big gestures, the tiny ones count, too. If he puts you ahead of his other priorities; goes out of his way to spend time with you; pays attention to what you say; and respects your every though, action and entire being, you know he's into you.

The most assuring telltale sign that he's into the relationship as much as you are is when he introduces you not only to his friends, but also to his family. Letting you see a side of him no else usually sees is a confirmation that he's serious, comfortable and that he's just as in love with you.
