The fence should be used to guide the wood through the table saw. If the fence is secure then it will lead to more accurate cuts. You can also notch the fence so that you can easily cut different angles. This makes it much easier to make angled cuts.

Another important thing to consider is the motor, many people overlook this important part of the machine. It may be kept out of sight, but that doesn't mean it's not important! You need to make sure that it will have enough power for whatever you intend to use it for.

There are so many different table saws available on the market that it can be difficult to find one which will last you for a long time. There are lots of reviews on choosing table saws, however these are often biased. If possible you could try looking for unsolicited reviews from individuals.
