Finding A Socially Responsible Water Cooler Supplier

In modern times and quite rightly social responsibility is at the forefront of everyones mind and this is especially true of business owners

. Business is won and lost on reputation so ensuring your company has a positive image and is received in the correct way is imperative.

Now you cant fake a positive image, well you probably can but the likely hood is you will become unstuck and your name could well be rubbished. The image you create needs to be through a positive approach to your business and considering its impacts on others and how you lessen these for everyones benefit.

So how can this be applied in the case of water cooler suppliers?

Environmental Impact of Water Coolers

First up we consider the environmental impact of water cooler supplies;

Does your potential supplier offer an option for email invoicing to cut down on printing?

If you have water bottles delivered for your machine as opposed to a mains fed unit how economical are the vehicles used by your supplier?

When bottles are delivered are you part of an established economical route?

Are the water coolers supplied energy efficient in themselves?

Recycling Coolers/Cups/Bottles

Next recycling, it could be lumped in with environment however we feel if should have its own section;

What material are your water cooler water bottles made from?

Is it recyclable?

Does your water cooler supplier send their bottles for recycling?

As you would imagine in this industry a lot of products can and should be recycled by suppliers.

Water cooler bottles are polycarbonate which is the same material used in safety glass and something you will all have at home; CDs thus making water cooler bottles well sought after.

The caps for the water bottles should also be collected up by responsible suppliers and recycled on mass; this process should also be true of used polypropylene cups which are generally supplied upon request.

Finally the water cooler units themselves, by no means should they be left standing in a warehouse when they have passed their useful life. Again as with many things in this industry the machines are predominantly plastic and metal so once out of use should be decommissioned, then broken down in to groups of materials and again recycled/scraped where possible.

Every water cooler supplies is different and will take a different approach to recycling and sustainability so if you yourself are conscious about such issues it is advised that you look in to their policies. If the suppliers site does not carry any such information we advise contacting them via phone or email to ask them directly.
