Finding Your Way Around The Tropical North Queensland

As a traveler you may know about the rainy season that closes down roads in and around the TNQ region

. It may bring some worry to you about what would happen if you were to be stuck in the jungle or if you become lost during your wanders. So there are things to think about in preparation for your travels, that way you are prepared and then you can enjoy the experience.

Stop at one of the Visitor Information Centers upon your arrival in Tropical North Queensland. This is where you will find out information about what is best to see during the time of your visit. They will also have maps that are the most current along with additional information about closed roads to help you avoid trouble areas. These centers are expressly available to help travelers such as yourself, and there are quite a few of them throughout the area.

Stock the car - No matter where you go be sure you have some supplies available in the car just in case you need them. This would be water, a flashlight, a first aid kit and a few food items in case you become stuck somewhere for a period of time. If that should happen don't leave the car because your recovery is more likely if you stay on the road with it.

Adapt your phone - When traveling internationally you will need to purchase a SIM card for your phone in order to have it work in the destination you are traveling to. Take the time to ensure that you have a working phone with you as well as local emergency numbers programmed in just in case you do have an emergency and need to get help.

GPS and Maps - It's important to have the most current maps and a up to date GPS system during your navigations around the region so you know where you are going. Take some tours - If you are concerned about moving about the area by yourself investigate the many driving and walking tours provided by the locals all around here. This way you get to see all of the wonderful sights and can enjoy them without worrying about where you are going.
