Tip 1 Although most people will arrange for the currency they need prior to leaving on their holiday by going to their bank. If you want to get a better rate then it is worth waiting until you arrive at your chosen destination. However, it is still a good idea to arrange to get some local currency before you do. For example if travelling to Spain arrange with your bank to provide around 200 Euros beforehand. This will help to cover any small expenses on arrival such as drink and food and for offering tips.

Tip 2 You could use the local currency exchange offices at the airport or in the resort where you are staying. You may find that using your debit or credit card to get money from a cash machine will prove much more beneficial. But make sure that when withdrawing any funds from your account that you take out a large amount rather than several small ones at a time. Don't forget every time you do withdraw funds from your account there are charges to be incurred.

Of course if you do withdraw any large amounts don't carry these with you at all times, but keep them safe in your accommodation. Not only will this reduce the risk of all your money being stolen but of you spending it.
