Flagstaff's First Friday ArtWalkis one of Northern Arizona's premier arts events; drawing locals and Flagstaff hotels guests in record numbers. On the first Friday of every month, art houses, galleries and local businesses in the historic Downtown Flagstaff district throw open their doors to the public. The walk features special exhibitions, live performances, great music, fun drinks and food and a whole lot more.

The ArtWalk is like a huge street party every month with many downtown bars and restaurants staying open well after the ArtWalk concludes at 9pm. Coconino Center for the Arts is the largest art gallery in Northern Arizona and showcases the very best local and regional artwork. It features several popular annual exhibitions include the Recycled Art Show which is held in April, Prelude to Flagstaff Open Studios in September and the Elemental fine crafts exhibition in December. The center also hosts year-round concerts in their cozy theatre.

Another popular art destination is the Northern Arizona University Art Museum which is housed on the NAU campus in the Old Main Building. The collection features Tozan Kiln ceramics, blown glass, paintings, stained glass, sculpture in all mediums and a whole lot more. The display features professional artists from around the globe and the highly-regarded permanent collection is exhibited in selected shows.
