You will need to look directly at the obstacles in the current process that will potentially stop you from achieving the perfection that you seek. By breaking down the process into smaller parts you can see where potential problems may lie remembering that customer experience and quality are two of the primary focuses of your process.

Then you will need to measure what you want to accomplish, and determine where the process is not performing well. Using statistics you are better able to obtain a true representation of the process and problems that are inside of it and then you can see exactly how short you are falling from your current goal.

Once you have figured how you are falling short you will be better able to tweak the process to produce better results. Analyzing the results that you are getting will better help you to refine the process and improve the overall quality of what you are producing.

As you improve what you are doing then it is important to continue to measure and analyze the results that you are getting and over time this will help you to draw conclusions which will allow you to further refine your results. By creating teams and working together each project should come together with minimal effort when you are working in the DMAIC model.
