A golf course in Langfang, Hebei province at 10:37 a..m.. March 14. The fire was under control soon as the firemen came to the spot 2 minutes after the fire broke out. They took 15 minutes to put off the fire, thus to prevent further damage from happening. The golf course is located in East University City in Longfang. The cause of the fire is that workers burned the withered grasses to fertilize the land and the fire spread out outside the fence as the wind blew.

At 10:39, the fire fighters arrived at the burning golf course. They organized an investigation group to look into the cause of the fire. After investigation, they found a few hundred square meters of golf course were under fire, withered grasses were burning violently, thick smokes are roaming about above the course. The man in charge of the golf course called the 119 (fire alarm number in China) immediately when he saw the fire was out of control. Because the golf course is located inside a university campus, it was very threatening to the students or other passers-by.

Since the fire was put off so quickly that no major damage happened. But we must learn from the lesson that burning grasses or leaves on the ground may pose a great threat.

Fire Department suggests that every citizen take care of the inflammables. As in spring, the weather is often very dry (especially in the north), it is very easy for inflammables to catch fire. In order to protect yourself and your neighbour's safety, please don't burn dry grass at random. If it's necessary, please check the wind direction before you do so.
