I am a Market Samurai student.I've been raving about it for the longest time and I haven't really gotten down to an in-depth discussion of its four golden rules on keyword research with you. Without further delay, here's the first golden rule:Set out to identify the keywordsthat are most RELEVANT to the content on your website.Relevance is synonymous to appropriateness, pertinence, connection, relation, and significance. Thus, in searching for keywords for your website, you must always bear in mind that it is related or has reference to what you and your company is all about.Use the simplest words possible to appeal your target audience. Avoid big words that can just confuse the mind like conflagration and inundation which could be simply said as fire and flood. The percentage of people that would likely think of conflagration and inundation is nil. So, why bother?After you're done with your keyword list aimed at your targeted audience, it's time to filter through it for relevance using Market Samurai.Market Samurai simplifies as well as speeds up the process of selecting relevant keywords through these steps:It allows you scroll down an entire list of keywords and lets you cross out keywords that are not relevant to you.If there are keywords or keyword phrases that you are not interested in, called negative keywords, you can just enter it into the data and the system will automatically eliminate it from your keyword roster;Keywords that you're interested in are called positive keyword phrases. This will remove phrases that you don't want and keep positive keywords that you found.The keyword list can also be modified manually.It contains a phrase length feature that lets you filter the number of words contained in the keyword phrase of your choice. If you want three words in a keyword phrase, then you get three.It has a feature called Phrase to Broad Match Ratio that analyzes and removes misleading keyword that search engines like Google sometimes return. The likelihood that a phrase contains words in the wrong order depends on how low the PBR is. The best way to eliminate misleading keyword phrases is by setting the PBR filter to 15%.
