First believe it and then you will see it
First believe it and then you will see it
"I'll believe it when I see it." I think we have all said that at some stage in our lives. The flaw with this attitude is it not only displays an unwillingness to see things outside our perception of reality, but it also prevents us from achieving a life greater than our current perception of reality.
Imagine if the great inventors of our past only believed in things once they saw them, there would be no phones, light bulbs, planes, plumbing or electricity, to name a few. If they weren't first believed to be possible in the inventor's mind and these items would never have been physically created.
Did you ever notice for the first time an item in a photo or a button in your car that must have always been there? Did it exist before you noticed it but you just didn't see it despite it being right before your eyes this whole time? Could it be that you are missing out on things in your life simply because you don't know to look for them or you don't believe they are possible? The more you open your consciousness up to believing, the more you will see.
The first time I really became aware of this concept was when I was watching the DVD What The Bleep Do We Know? It took me some time to understand what they were teaching but the example they used was they showed an Indian Sharmin standing on a shoreline, many years ago, looking out into the ocean where there was a fleet of ships approaching land. The Sharmin could see the ripples in the water and sensed something was there but he could not see it because he did not understand the concept of what ships are. He returned to the beach several days in a row until he began to believe in possibilities of things existing in this world that he was unaware of and only then could he see the ships. He then told his tribe what he could see and only then did they believe and also could see the ships.
Children believe all sorts of things are possible, ideas that adults would never entertain. Never stop your children playing, imagining and dreaming for we all had this ability once until our parents and society limited our imaginations and our possibilities.
Your perception is YOUR reality, it is not THE reality. Be open to things outside of your current understanding and watch the world around you expand.
