Fish Oil And Depression - 2 Ways To Feel Better Faster
In the last 10 to 15 years, depression has become almost an epidemic
. More and more people are suffering from it every year, either in mild, moderate or severe form. As someone who has personally suffered from mild to moderate depression in the past, I would like to give you two quick tips you can use to turn things around.
1. Be as active as possible. Although I have had a lot of help from natural supplements, the most important being molecularly distilled fish oil, I have to tell you that the most important thing you can do to help yourself, and I speak from personal experience, is to get out and do something. Anything. Don't stay at home. Go out with friends, meet new people and go to social gatherings. Emotional detachment from people is one of the worst things that you can do in these situations.
Three to four years ago I was unemployed, sitting on the couch and wasting time feeling bad. I cannot stress this enough: You have to do something active, pursue a goal, take one step. If you don't feel like it, then force yourself. Don't do it tomorrow, do it now and you won't regret it. Personally, the more I sat on the couch brooding in my own negativity, the worse things got. Negativity breeds more negativity. You have to nip this in the bud.
2. High-grade fish oil supplements. The second thing I recommend, and have had very good success with, is taking a
high quality, molecularly distilled fish oil supplement high in the polyunsaturated fatty acids EPA and DHA. DHA, in particular, is a very important component of the human brain. In fact, plenty of research studies have shown that depression is often related to a deficiency of DHA in the brain.
The most likely reason for this deficiency is the fact that people were made to eat lots of fatty fish in their diets (those fatty fish are very high in DHA) and not the highly processed the junk food diets so many people are used to today. Hundreds of years ago, according to Swedish researchers, our human ancestors, were eating about 20 g of fish oil a day through their diet. Hardly anybody gets this many omega-3 fatty acids in his or her diet today.
So, set a goal for yourself, even a small one. And then aim towards achieving it. As the ancient Chinese used to say, "the giant tree grows from a tiny sprout." Go out of pursue something, make an improvement in your life and take a fish oil supplement to help you along. If it worked for me, it can work for you.
Bonus tip: There are so many fish oil supplements on the market today. How is one to choose wisely? There is
one very unique fish oil with a far superior level of DHA than conventional oils.
