, you can't beat Fishing Vancouver Island in British Columbia. It is consistently voted the "Salmon Capital of the World" in the Campbell River area and "Fly Fishing Capital of Canada" in the Cowichan River are and this is hardly surprising as the Island is surrounded by the rich waters of the Pacific Ocean.

For seven years consecutively this Island has been found to be the "Top North American Island" for fishing by Cond Nast Traveler magazine. From the Pacific Rim to Port Hardy in the north and Victoria in the south the sport fishing is excellent all-year-round. The First Nations sites, wildlife and Whale watching in this region are also popular activities.

Populations of Rockcod and Lingcod are also attracted to these shores.

The Johnstone Strait and the Broughton Archipelago are marvelous areas to spend your time fishing and vacationing and, in the south, Telegraph Cove is a popular centre for whale watchers and fans of ocean kayaking.
