Also, eating right is another way to get fit to improve your self-esteem. Do not be a lazy bum, and sit on the couch watching TV all day munching on chips and salsa and chugging down a beer bottle. Take a walk outside; get some fresh air; breathe in some oxygen. Not only will your body feel good, but you will feel good about yourself. Other people would notice that nice, toned-up body of yours and will give you nice compliments; that is probably what you would want after a hard, long day, right?

How does eating right, getting plenty of sleep, and, of course, exercise improve your body both physically and psychologically, you may ask yourself? It is quite simple, really: Let us say that you saw a hot blonde girl (or guy if you are a female) walking down the shoreline in a two-piece bikini (or in a pair of swim trunks), and those surfer guys walk past by you thinking, "Wow, now there is a hot one." You might not hear a word he might say to you, but from the way of hisbody language such as a turned head with a wink and a smile and also a friendly wave, that is considered a complimenta great compliment. If you an "average-sized" person with not-so-toned-up abs and "chubby knees" walking down the beach, the guys may not see you as an "easy target." Therefore, you might be thinking to yourself while whining, "Why don't they like me? Oh God, I hate my body. I hate myself."

Eating right is one way to help you stay fit. Maintaining a healthy, yet balanced diet of bread and grains, meats and protein, milk and dairy products such as eggs, cheese, and fruit and vegetables will get you where you want to go. Sure, munching on chips and salsa just because the chips has stone-ground white/yellow corn may get you somewhere, but the chips have been mainly deep-fried with some salt, and that cannot be good for your health due to the amount of sodium loaded on those chips. Salsa, on the other hand, might actually be good for you. The major ingredient of the salsa, tomatoes, contains a huge amount of lycopene and Vitamin A which helps maintain good vision. Chopped onions, garlic, hot peppers (if you eat them sparingly, then it is okay), and all other types of vegetation in the salsa are also ingredients that are good for thehuman body.

What you drink may also affects on how you stay fit. Soda? Yeah, right. I am talking about pure dihydrogen monoxide (aka "H2O) or water. Mostenergy drinks or juices may work for athletes, but sometimes those drinks contain a huge amount of either crystalline fructose or even high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), that would be either worse for your health if you have diabetic issues, or, if you are having trouble finding those electrolytes that you so badly need. If the lack of electrolytes in your body is the case, then I would suggest purchasing a box of Glaceau's SmartWater or VitaminWater; they are much better than Gatorade or even RedBull for that matter, and it does not contain that much sugar or high-fructose corn syrup as most sodas and otherenergy drinks.

Getting plenty of rest and sleep every night is very important to help you stay alert the next morning. Most [adults] usually get an average of about 7 to 8 hours of sleep, but try not to overdo it. Lack of sleep will make you feel groggy in the morning, and you will have a hard time concentrating on your day, and oversleeping may lead to a lot of negative health issues such asheart disease and diabetes. 8 to 9 hours of sleep (I usually do around 7 hours myself) is the majority number of hours that people need.

Now comes the most important part of the day: Exercise. It does not hurt to get out of the house every so often and go for a jog, a walk, or even a swim at your local gym's swimming pool (that is, if you do not have a pool in your backyard). Outdoor breathing in of oxygen and exhalation of carbon dioxide will help strengthen your immune system by a wide margin, and you will feel more alert, energetic, and full of life. Physical training assessments such as push-ups, sit-ups and mountain climbers in your bedroom are other ways to get your heart pumping. This will lower your risks ofheart disease, stroke, and sometimes even cancer.

It does not matter what you do to help yourself stay fit; it is how you do it. Eating right, getting plenty of sleep, and exercise are the three main things to help you not only maintain a toned-up body, but they help you maintain your self-esteem, give you happiness, and live a longer life. Walk the dog; help carry some boxes for a friend; play some basketball in the front yard; go out for a swim. You will be glad that you did all (or some) of those things, because you keep on challenging and motivating yourself to both stay healthy and maintain a positive image of yourself to other people.
