Fitted Bedroom Furniture Makes For A Tidier Room

Fitted bedroom furniture is a good idea as it can make a room seem bigger and more streamlined

. It is an efficient use of the available space as there will not be any annoying gaps in between furniture. It will also be easier to clean as there will be less nooks and crannies for dust to settle.

The first decision about fitted furniture is to decide what kind you want. After this decision has been made then the actual design can be worked out and the room can be measured up. The different available types include a full carcase construction, a front frame construction and sliding wardrobes.

A sliding wardrobe will consist of just a front frame, and will not have a base, sides, top or a back. Full carcase construction is where the wardrobe seems to be lined when you open it, as it has a top, backs sides and a base. A front frame wardrobe will have a base but not sides and a back or top.

Once you have made a decision about the best kind of frame, then you can look at what will go inside. Take a look inside your wardrobe to see how much space is taken up by short hanging items like shirts, top and skirts, and then see how many long items such as coats and dresses you have. You also need to decide how much drawer space you will need, and how many shoe racks.

Now start to plan the interior of your wardrobe. If you need some ideas then look in furniture showrooms and magazines, but it should be pretty easy once you get started. Once this is completed then it is time to decide what other furniture you will need.

There are different designs of bedside cabinet, as they can have drawers, cupboards or even be open. Some will have a tray that pulls out for extra space on top. The heights are different as it depends on the height of the bed.

If you need additional storage space then decide what you will be putting in it. It could be cupboards or drawers or a mixture of the two. You can have a lot of fun designing fitted bedroom furniture.
