Five Bitter Celebrity Divorces

The world is no stranger to celebrity circuses

. The dominant factors for their lives being treated as a world circus in a world stage stems from the various kinds of activities they keep themselves busy with.

Some of these reason are alcoholism, substance abuse etc. The largely explored horizon of celebrity circus however comes from not one, but at times two famous people at once. After all, it takes two to tango, right?

The Onset

As everything else in history, the trend of publicized break ups divorces and bitter custody battles, was started off by the Royal family of England. That is correct ladies and gentlemen remember Lady Diana and Prince Charles? Here is a quick recap, just in case. The story had every spice that you need; love, betrayal, affairs, not forgotten ex love and of course kids.

Charles was said to have always been more connected to Camilla Parker-Bowles and Diana later moved on to a series of James. Anyhow, there was quite the ado and they were finally instructed to get divorced by the Queen.

Next up is Beatles man Paul McCartney and his darling model Heather Mills.The best part of this divorce was the amount of alimony demanded. A jaw-dropping amount of 125 million was asked by Mills for various unproductive activities like designer clothes, jewelry and some charity. In addition, since they had a daughter together, payments had to be made for her upbringing as well.

Welcome to Hollywood

Kick starting this segment will be the ex lovers Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen. Richards had reportedly filed for the divorce while she was still pregnant with their child. However, there was once again a nasty battle what with she charging Sheen with very serious crimes like wife abuse and manhandling. An ugly verdict was however reached later on.

Next up is Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin. This split will always remain famous for custody over a child and of course Alec almost committing suicide. They reached a bitter settlement much later and have been trying to work it ever since.

Now, this list will be rounded off by, surprise! BritneySpears and Kevin Federline. Not a pretty divorce number five was every bit the circus, with Britney refusing to let go of her kids and then shaving her head off and then rehab.

The fight was bitter over custody of the kids as well, since nobody was ready to back out
